Stories from a Year in Spain (1959-1960) documents a mid-20th century extended stay. Through her text, diary entries and images (photographs, drawings and wood engravings), Mitchell describes daily life in Madrid and recalls excursions to the Alhambra in Granada, as well as outings to faraway villages such as Guadalupe and La Alberca.
